West Kazakhstan region: gas workers provide assistance to flood victims

In the light of active flood control measures in the Terektinsky district, gas supply was restored to the population of the village of Podstepnoye. The urgent actions carried out during the floods have helped to stabilize the situation, and local residents are now returning to their homes.

Yerlan Zhubatkhanov, an employee of the Terekta gas industry, heads the work on providing gas to this area. Despite the difficulties caused by the floods, he continued his service with the rescuers, even when his own house was completely flooded. After the accident on the gas pipeline occurred in the settlement, the whole village was left without gas. However, thanks to the efforts of gas workers, the blue fuel was restored.

– This is my job. I didn’t even have time to think about my house, which was completely flooded. The damage has been repaired. All employees of the branch were involved, colleagues from the regional center came to the rescue. Now all the houses have been connected,” E.Zhubatkhanov noted.

Zhazima Halykova, a resident of the village of Podstepnoye, expressed gratitude to the gas workers for their help during the floods. They provided support in carrying out repairs and checking each house. “The gas has already been supplied, and we are going to connect our boiler,” she rejoices.

Since the beginning of floods in the region, all employees of KazTransGas Aimak JSC have switched to round-the-clock operation. They carried out the necessary pre-protective work on all gas equipment. This made it possible to ensure an uninterrupted and safe supply of natural gas.

– Our employees carried out pre-defense work. We carried out the collapse and put the necessary structures around our gas equipment. Speaking of which, in those regions where an emergency situation was declared, KazTransGas Aimak JSC provides stable gas supply despite floods,” explains Bauyrzhan Askarov, General Director of KazTransGas Aimak JSC.

In addition, the group of JSC NC QazaqGaz created volunteer teams to provide assistance to flood victims. They purchase food, medicines and other basic necessities at their own expense and deliver them to evacuation centers.
