On the eve of the Day of First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC NC "KazMunayGas" commissioned a new compressor station No.1 (SCS-1) on the "C" line, of “Kazakhstan-China” main pipeline. The facility is located near the Baspandy village in the Shardarinsky district of the South Kazakhstan region,-is one of the 8 planned gas pipeline stations.
Construction and further operation of the investment project was implemented by a joint venture of JSC”KazTransGas” and Trans-Asia Gas Pipeline Co. Ltd "- LLP" Asian Gas Pipeline ". The new object of the gas infrastructure will increase the productivity of the "C" line of the gas pipeline, and increase the volume of gas transportation to 25 billion cubic meters per year, while ensuring the maximum reliability of the process of uninterrupted transportation in the mode of 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. SCS-1 is part of the transnational project "Central Asia-China", a giant in length and throughput of the gas artery, which connects four states - Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and China.
The new compressor station is equipped with the most modern equipment from the world's leading manufacturers. They installed gas pumping units of the "Rolls Royce" company. The design capacity of SCS-1 is 516,749 cubic meters of gas per hour. The innovative equipment used, as well as a set of auxiliary systems, will be able to ensure safe and technologically uninterrupted gas transportation during the whole period of operation of the main gas pipeline
In the future, the new compressor station with the expansion of SCS-1, can increase the volume of gas transit, if necessary. For this, according to technological parameters, additional connection of the compressor station to the string "D" is provided.
Kairat Sharipbayev, executive vice president of gas transportation and marketing at JSC NC “KazMunayGas”, said that the new gas infrastructure expands the transit opportunities of Kazakhstan. "Commissioning of another powerful compressor station on the Kazakhstan-China highway is another step in improving the Kazakhstan's gas transportation system," said Kairat Sharipbaev. - In general, as of today, the country's gas industry has been almost completely renovated and equipped with the most modern equipment.
With the commissioning of the facility, Kazakhstan was able to double the eastern transit of gas, at the same time, ahead of all schedules, having fulfilled the instructions of the Head of State on developing the transit potential of the country and increasing transit traffic twice by 2020 ".
JSC “KazTransGas” (a part of JSC NC “KazMunaiGas”) is the main gas transportation company of Kazakhstan, representing the interests on the domestic and also in foreign gas market. The company manages a centralized infrastructure for the transport of marketable gas through gas pipelines and gas distribution networks, provides international transit and sells gas on the domestic and foreign markets, develops, finances, builds and operates pipelines and gas storage facilities.
